Laborers' Home Development Corp.

The Laborers’ Home Development Corporation (LHDC) is a private non-profit corporation affiliated with and managed by the Midwest Region of the Laborers’ International Union of North America. The corporation’s mission is to develop, manage, and maintain quality, affordable housing in the Midwest Region. Currently, the corporation owns and manages 10 developments in Illinois consisting of :

• 354 units in Jacksonville


• 60 units in East Peoria


• 48 units in Centralia


• 42 units in Olney


• 42 units in Carmi

• 32 single-family rental homes in Centralia

• 24 units in McLeansboro

• 76 units in for frail elderly in Pekin

• 236 units are specifically for senior citizens and 410 units are multi-family.

Laborers’ Home Development has a reputation for providing high quality, well-maintained, affordable housing for the citizens of the communities its serves. The LHDC provides the management and oversight for the developments, and in addition, all of the employees are union members.

 

In the future, the Laborers’ Home Development Corporation is looking for expansion opportunities throughout the Midwest Region. Plans are currently underway to construct a 50-unit multi-family apartment complex in Paris, IL. The corporation fills a community need and in the process provides jobs for Union members as well as work for signatory contractors.
