EFCA in Right-to-Work States

Workers in states like Arkansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas do not have to belong -- or pay any dues – to a union if they don’t want to.  EFCA will not change that.

To review, the Employee Free CHOICE Act gives workers many choices:

  • Employees choose whether they sign an authorization card at all;
  • If they do want to sign, Employees choose which type of card (majority sign-up or secret ballot) they sign;
  • If a union is created, Employees in Right-to-Work states can choose not to join the union or pay any dues to the union and still benefit from the union contract negotiated on their behalf.
